River Past Audio Capture is an easy-to-use and fast audio recording software. Rip audio from your LP, audio cassette, and VHS video tapes. Record your own karaoke singing, or TV and radio programs. Use it as a universal audio converter by recording from the speakers. Sometimes it is the only way to transfer DRM protected WMA or iTunes audio files to WAV or MP3.
Record to MP3 or WMA for your portable audio players, or share it on the internet. Record to WAV or AVI so you can use it in your favorite video editing programs.
River Past Audio Capture is the only audio recording software which can record from your DV camcorder connected to a 1394 port. Have a tape of your kid's concert? Make a CD!

- Input Selection
River Past Audio Capture enables you to select the input port with an easy and obvious interface, whether you are recording from microphone, line-In, or speakers.
It is the only audio recording software which enables you to record from a DV camcorder or VCR connected to 1394 port. This makes it extremely easy for you to move your newer collection of DV tapes to your computer.
- Output Formats
River Past Audio Capture supports a wide range of output formats.
AIFF/AIFC Apple Audio, MPEG-4 Audio (booster needed), MPEG Layer-3, MPEG Audio (booster needed), OGG Vorbis Audio, RealAudio (booster needed), Waveform, Windows Media Audio.
- Codec Control
With WAV, MP3, audio-only AVI output, and WMA, you have the full control over sample rate, channel, resolution (8-bit or 16-bit), and bitrate.
When recording WMA using profiles, you have the choice of many pre-defined profiles, targeted at different usages.
- Pause Control
You can pause the recording in River Past Audio Capture, and restart later. This enables you to have multiple segments of recording in a single audio file.
- Universal Converter
By recording from the speakers, River Past Audio Capture can be used as a universal audio converter, regardless where the audio is from.
For example, you can start playback of a RealMedia or RealAudio file in the background with Real Player, and record from speakers. This turns River Past Audio Capture into a RA to MP3 (or RA to WMA) converter.
You can use the same method to convert MIDI to MP3/WMA.
