Netscape has rebuilt its browser's engine from the ground up and sports an entirely new interface. New features include the following:- A fast-surfing, standards-compliant browser

- Excellent privacy tools such as the Cookie Manager and Password Manager
- Builder tools that almost fully support the standards for HTML 4.0, XML 1.0, CSS1, key parts of CSS2, ECMA-262, and the Level 1 DOM
- A customizable interface that offers built-in support for multiple skins or themes
- The My Sidebar navigational tool
Netscape 8.0 offers enhanced protection for phishing and other security threats. New features include extended address-bar searching, enhanced tabbed browsing, and improved downloading.
Note: This download uses a "smart" installer; after downloading "nsb-setup.exe", double-click on the file to start the install. You can choose between a typical and Complete Netscape installation. The download file size for full installation is 26MB.
Important Notice
Download available but Official End of Support. AOL's focus on transitioning to an ad-supported web business leaves little room for the size of investment needed to get the Netscape browser to a point many of its fans expect it to be. Given AOL's current business focus and the success the Mozilla Foundation has had in developing critically-acclaimed products, they ended development of Netscape branded browsers, hand the reins fully to Mozilla and encourage Netscape users to adopt Firefox.
